Creating Inclusive Camp Experiences for Individuals with Disabilities

The Marfan Foundation which focuses on people living with genetic and aortic and vascular conditions, brought members to Family Camp to participate in leadership and collaborate on problem-solving while on the challenge course.

United Cerebral Palsy hosted a kids’ camp in July 2023. UCP believes summer camp is a rite of passage for all school-age children. Sierra Nevada Journeys is the ideal setting to host summer camp, providing children with healthy, fun, and appropriate activities led by our instructors.

That’s also why Muscular Dystrophy Association youth campers have been coming to Sierra Nevada Journeys for more than 12 years. MDA Summer Camp is a place of inclusion, empowerment, exploration, and growth; it is a life-changing experience for youth and teens with neuromuscular disease.
